Live safely, securely and vibrantly at Solstice at Normandy Park!

It’s safe to say that this year has come with its fair share of unexpected circumstances. During a time when activities and visits with friends and family are limited, the team at Solstice Senior Living at Normandy Park has been working tirelessly to keep residents healthy and find alternative ways to foster community and connection.

Solstice at Normandy Park offers convenience, comfort and connection while prioritizing the health and safety of residents. Beginning in early March, the community implemented procedures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and keep residents and associates healthy, while finding new ways to keep residents engaged, like virtual and socially distanced outdoor events, door-to-door food carts, and more.

“At Solstice at Normandy Park, we have a preparedness plan and protocols in place for all viruses like this, including the flu and norovirus,” said Pam Dill, Solstice at Normandy Park’s executive director. “The health and safety of our residents and our associates is always our top priority, and our team is working hard to ensure the physical health of our community and is constantly finding creative ways to provide our residents with activities and the human and emotional connection they need during this time.”

Solstice at Normandy Park utilizes Goodview Touchless Temperature Scanners to screen all associates and visitors to the community daily and EvaClean Touchless Disinfection for sterilization purposes. These electrostatic disinfection sprayers allow for 360-degree coverage and use 70% less chemicals than standard handheld spray bottles. Our community also partners with home health care providers who are available to assist with personal care needs, wellness checks, physical therapy and daily life activities.

While the physical health of residents has been a priority, so has their mental and emotional health. The team at Solstice at Normandy Park has devised safe, socially distant activities like a virtual, coast-to-coast Senior Dance-A-Thon for residents, prospects and families. They’ve also cultivated human connection by sponsoring drive-in movies throughout Normandy Park and Burien, hosted a free contactless Father’s Day car wash, and orchestrated a sidewalk-chalk art walk within the community all while following health protocols.

“We are really creative and continue to find innovative partnerships to ensure our residents are able to stay engaged, have fun and continue to build on the connections we’ve made during this time in the community,” said Samantha Pabon, Solstice at Normandy Park’s director of Sales and Marketing (pictured, right). “Our Elevate® dining culinary team has created fun meals and snack carts that we’re able to take directly to each resident’s home, our Vibrant Life® team has put together great virtual and socially distant events, and our entire staff has really stepped up to make sure our residents don’t feel isolated and are benefiting from safe social interactions.”

Currently, residents’ friends and families are able to schedule socially distanced visits with their loved ones and are welcome to attend all virtual events.
