For week ending Oct. 24, 2020

City Council Discusses Planning Commission Comprehensive Plan Recommendations. After discussing the Planning Commission’s Comprehensive Plan recommendations at the regularly scheduled October 13th City Council Meeting, the City Council is deliberating its course, and will finalize its determinations at the regularly scheduled November 10th meeting.

Interim Emergency Regulations for Outdoor Seating. Interim draft regulations can permit extended outdoor seating for Normandy Park businesses through the application of a temporary use permit. Please contact Community Development Director, Holly Keeton ([email protected]), to arrange emergency outdoor seating for your business.

Regulations for siting enhanced services facilities (ESFs). Regulations for siting enhanced services facilities (ESFs), as required per Washington State statute, are in draft and are before the Planning Commission for discussion. There will be a public hearing on the topic at the November 19th Planning Commission meeting.

Flood Hazard Area Regulations. This year, federal FEMA regulations require formal update of Normandy Park flood hazard area regulations (Title 9). The amended regulations will allow citizens to continue, or purchase, flood insurance policies as needed. Compliance with these regulations also allows the City of Normandy Park to be eligible for FEMA funding. Draft formal regulations will be presented at the November Planning Commission Meeting and public hearing. Interim regulations are currently in effect.
